About Habitat for Humanity of Puerto Rico

At Habitat for Humanity of Puerto Rico, we are part of a global network led by Habitat for Humanity International—but our work is deeply local. We partner with families to build and rehabilitate safe, affordable housing across Puerto Rico—creating pathways to stability, dignity, and long-term opportunity. Our model is simple—and powerful: → Homes are built and sold at no profit and with no interest → Families invest their time through sweat equity, building their homes and supporting others → Mortgage payments are reinvested into a revolving Fund for Humanity, helping more families access homeownership This work is only possible through community: → Volunteers who build alongside families → Individual and corporate partners who invest in real solutions → Families who lead their own path forward As part of a global network with 2,000+ affiliates across the U.S., Puerto Rico, and Guam—and operations in 60+ countries, the collective impact is significant: → 300,000+ homes built → 1.5 million+ people served But for us, it always comes back to something more human—a decent home changes everything.
