About Haliburton County Folk Society

The Haliburton County Folk Society’s mandate is to foster an appreciation of and participation in folk music in Haliburton County by: • Promoting folk and all genres of music; • Bringing performers and audiences together; • Encouraging young artists and musicians; • Providing a venue for local talent; • Providing educational/skill development opportunities that augment the skills and abilities of local musicians; • Increasing support and exposure for local musicians; • Providing financial support for musical ventures; and • Partnering with other folk societies and other performing arts groups The Folk Society is an initiative of the Haliburton County Community Cooperative and governed by the COOP’s Board of Directors In 2020 the Folk Society was awarded the Setting the Stage award. This award is given to a club, venue or festival in recognition of their outstanding contributions to Canada’s live music industry.
