About HANJO CONTRACTORS, INC.

Since 1982, Hanjo has been at the forefront of luxury construction and high-end residential renovations in New York City. More than exceptional homes, we build lasting relationships grounded in trust, craftsmanship, and clarity. When founder Hans brought his European values of hard work, honesty, and integrity to the United States, he initially partnered with Joe to establish Hanjo on those same principles. While Joe later moved on, the foundation they created set the standard of quality and integrity that continues to define the company today. Hanjo has since grown into one of NYC’s most respected construction firms, specializing in apartment and townhouse renovations known for excellence, discretion, and refined collaboration. Now in its second generation, Hanjo remains proudly family-owned and operated by Hans’ children—Adrian, Vanessa, and Christine. Our team is a tightly knit community of master craftsmen, experienced project managers, and trusted crews who work hand-in-hand with architects and interior designers. Together, we ensure seamless communication, flawless execution, and the smooth translation of ideas across every phase of the building process—from planning and permitting to move-in and beyond. For more than four decades, Hanjo has delivered transformative results for New York’s most discerning homeowners and design professionals. Nearly all of our projects come through referrals, a reflection of the deep relationships and trust we continue to build. At Hanjo, our role goes far beyond construction. We interpret visions, solve complex challenges, and craft homes that are as effortless as they are extraordinary. With every project, we reaffirm our reputation as a premier partner for luxury renovations in New York City—where timeless craftsmanship meets modern living.
