About Hateco Haiphong International Container Terminal (HHIT)
Hateco Haiphong International Container Terminal (HHIT) represents a new generation of deep-sea port infrastructure in Vietnam — built to world-class standards and designed to power the future of global trade. Strategically located within the Lach Huyen deep-sea port area, HHIT is the most advanced deep-water container terminal in Vietnam and the largest in Northern Vietnam. Serving as a direct gateway to major trans-Pacific shipping routes, the terminal plays a pivotal role in strengthening Vietnam’s global connectivity and supply chain competitiveness. Launched in August 2022 and completed in just 30 months — two months ahead of schedule. Spanning 73 hectares with a 900-meter quay and berth depths ranging from -16.8m to -18.4m, the terminal is designed to simultaneously accommodate two ultra-large container vessels of up to 200,000 DWT (≥18,000 TEU) and 400 meters in length. As a Green & Smart Port, HHIT integrates state-of-the-art STS with 24 rows outreach and e-RTG cranes, advanced Terminal Operating Systems (TOS), Vietnam’s first OCR-based automated gate system, and an integrated Truck Appointment System (TAS) — delivering superior efficiency, safety, and sustainability. Positioned among the region’s most advanced deep-water terminals, HHIT is setting new benchmarks for efficiency, sustainability, and global connectivity.
