About HBXL Skills Academy

The HBXL Skills Academy helps change fortunes. The short high-impact courses are for anyone in residential construction taking the next step on their career or business journey. Maybe starting a new business or expanding one, or up-skilling (themselves or a colleague). Our online training courses open doors – either getting the next role, recruiting talent, or winning new customers. HBXL have been in the construction industry for over 20 years and know what it takes to succeed in the sector. HBXL Skills Academy offers three online courses (available as a government-funded Skills Bootcamp or through the CITB as an Approved Training Provider). Tailored for the construction industry, they focus on Estimating, CAD, and Business Management. Each course is designed to equip learners with practical skills, industry-recognised software proficiency, and career advancement opportunities. * Estimating Skills for a Thriving Building Firm * This online course teaches practical residential project estimating using industry-standard EstimatorXpress software. Learners also gain valuable insights into profit margins, overheads, contracts, and business promotion. * CAD for Construction * Attendees learn to create planning application and building regulation-quality plans using industry-standard PlansXpress software. Utilising highly-transferable CAD skills, learners draft new builds, extensions, and loft conversions, develop 3D models, and are introduced to build cost estimation. * Business Management Skills for a Successful Construction Firm* The course focusses on practical business management skills specific to the construction industry. It introduces project estimating, calculating overheads and profits topics as well techniques to promote your business. It also includes health and safety, plus topics such as Circular Economy, Modern Slavery and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion. Trainees receive CITB SSSTS certification and develop a career progression plan.
