About Heat & Frost Insulators Local 5

The International Association of Heat and Frost Insulators and Allied Workers Local 5 represents skilled union professionals dedicated to improving energy efficiency, safety, and sustainability across Southern California. As energy conservation specialists, we install and maintain insulation for mechanical systems—including piping, ductwork, and equipment—and provide essential firestopping services that protect lives and property. Our members take pride in their craftsmanship and in the vital role insulation plays in reducing energy waste and emissions. Today, we continue to lead the way toward a green, decarbonized future by promoting and performing professional assessments of insulated mechanical systems, helping facilities identify opportunities to conserve energy and lower their carbon footprint. Through ongoing training and apprenticeship programs, we ensure that every member has the skills and knowledge to meet the evolving needs of our industry and communities.
