About Heide Contracting

Heide Contracting is an Atlanta renovation company specializing in space-maximizing, structurally complex home transformations. Founded by first-generation Danish-American builder Alex Heide, the company blends historic preservation with modern design, helping homeowners gain the space they need without sacrificing the character they love. From crawl space to basement conversions and basement lowering to load-bearing wall removal and full underground additions, Heide Contracting delivers innovative, engineer-led solutions that feel seamless to the home’s original architecture. Every project is guided by craftsmanship, transparency, and a commitment to making the “impossible” possible — all while preserving Atlanta’s architectural heritage.
