About Helia Photonics Ltd

Helia Photonics specialises in demanding optical coatings for micro-optics and light-emitting semiconductor devices. With over 20 years of experience and a diverse international customer base, we aim to be a leading provider of high-performance coatings for photonics applications. As ultrathin film innovators, our highly skilled R&D team drives advances in high-power diode lasers, ultra-low anti-reflection coatings, and next-generation photonics devices. We employ advanced vacuum optical coating technologies and continuously reinvest in research to stay at the forefront of global developments. Active areas of R&D include: • Lifetime-enhancing AR coatings for GaN lasers • Lifetime-enhancing OC coatings for AlGaAs lasers • Ultra-broadband AR coatings for LWIR quantum cascade lasers (QCLs) • Tight-edge dichroics for silicon detectors • Ion Beam Sputtering (IBS) and Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) for photonics devices • Low-energy deposition for organic devices We collaborate with organisations such as the Technology Strategy Board (TSB), the Scottish Universities Physics Alliance (SUPA), and the Small Companies Innovation Scheme to develop innovative solutions. Core capabilities include: • High-damage-threshold coatings for high-power semiconductor pump lasers and arrays • Novel high-COMD threshold processes for AlGaAs lasers • Ultra-low AR coatings for laser facets and free-space optics (FSO) • Infrared AR and high-reflectivity coatings for QCLs • Ultra-low reflectivity (<0.01%) on diverse substrates • Bandpass and dichroic filters across UV, visible, and IR • Coatings on optical fibre ends and plastics • Optical metallic coatings www.twitter.com/heliaphotonics
