About Hemophilia Society of Bangladesh (HSB)

𝑯𝒆𝒎𝒐𝒑𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒂 𝑺𝒐𝒄𝒊𝒆𝒕𝒚 𝒐𝒇 𝑩𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒍𝒂𝒅𝒆𝒔𝒉 (𝑯𝑺𝑩), founded on March 18, 1994, is dedicated to improving the lives of people with hemophilia and related bleeding disorders. The society began when six patients and their parents met at the Shahid Minar in Dhaka, driven by a common goal: to provide better access to care for all hemophiliacs in Bangladesh. Officially registered with the Bangladesh Government's Social Welfare Department in 1995, HSB gained membership with the World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH) in 1996, making strides to connect with the global hemophilia community. 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐖𝐞 𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐞: In Bangladesh, poor diagnostic facilities mean over 90% of hemophiliacs remain undiagnosed, and those who are diagnosed face significant financial barriers to treatment. Despite these challenges, HSB continues to spread awareness through workshops, seminars, and educational initiatives to ensure comprehensive care, from prevention to treatment and follow-up. 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐋𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠: HSB is a charitable organization registered under the Bangladesh Government (Reg. No: DHA-03359) and is the national member organization of WFH, which is affiliated with the World Health Organization (WHO).
