About Hengistbury Head Outdoors

Hengistbury Head Outdoors (HHO) is a community-led charity breathing new life into the much-loved outdoor centre at Hengistbury Head. After years of closure and disrepair, we’re restoring the site and waterfront to create an inspiring, inclusive destination for everyone to enjoy. Our vision is simple but powerful — to transform this stunning natural site into a place where people of all ages and backgrounds can connect with nature, discover new skills, and thrive in body and mind. When the centre reopens in April 2026, it will offer a wide range of watersports, land-based and wellbeing activities, alongside outdoor education, training and volunteering opportunities. Together with local partners and professional organisations, our volunteers will help make this a space that supports learning, connection and sustainability. We’re now in the final phase of restoration — and we’d love your support to help us cross the finish line. You can get involved by becoming a member (£10) or investing in our community share scheme, helping ensure the centre’s future for generations to come. Join us as we restore a cherished local landmark and build a vibrant, accessible hub for community, nature and wellbeing at Hengistbury Head.
