HiDef & BioConsult SH are innovative, solutions-driven, survey and consultancy providers, with HiDef being the UK’s market leader in high-resolution digital aerial offshore wildlife surveys. Founded in 2007, in 2016 HiDef became part of the BioConsult SH family of companies, which created a multi-disciplinary consultancy specialising in undertaking environmental assessment and ecological research across the terrestrial, coastal and marine environments to an industry leading standard. Our expertise allows us to balance the demands of sustainable development with the conservation of the natural environment. With staff located across the country, we provide nationwide and overseas services. HiDef’s reputation for quality work has been underpinned by internationally certified QA processes giving even greater comfort to our clients (we were one of the first UK companies to achieve the ISO27001 information security management in June 2016). We have experts skilled in flight operations and data management, as well as the quality assurance, analysis and presentation of ecological data combining to bring an informed approach to data storage, analysis and presentation. Our expert review and identification team includes some of Europe’s leading ornithologists and marine mammal biologists, and our best-in-class detection and identification rates have been proven through industry studies. We collect, interpret, plot, analyse, map and model data and present it in industry leading formats. We can take you through the environmental challenges of the development process, from start to finish, and foresee and mitigate challenges and obstacles. We are accredited to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001. We are also Achilles UVDB Category C and Cyber Essentials Plus accredited.
