About High Tails Animal Rescue, NFP

High Tails Animal Rescue, NFP (HTAR) is a registered 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that operates as a licensed dog and cat rescue. HTAR is both volunteer-run and foster-based in the Greater Chicagoland and Northern Suburbs of Illinois. HTAR is not breed or age-specific; our organization is dedicated to rescuing and adopting out dogs and cats from overcrowded/high-kill shelters, animal controls, and animals on euthanasia lists. By working with a network of volunteers, fosters, rescuers, and shelters, HTAR is able to rescue animals deserving of a second chance every year. HTAR provides these animals with the care they individually need and temporary foster homes until HTAR can place them into permanent homes. HTAR also strives to be a resource for communities. HTAR aims to provide accessible pet education, raise public awareness of rescue and shelter animals, and expand public education on pet ownership to keep owners and their beloved pets together. At High Tails, we believe no animal should be euthanized due to lack of a home and we are actively working towards the day when that is true for all companion animals. As a foster-based rescue, we do not have a facility for the public to meet our animals. Please fill out an application on our website if you are interested in meeting and adopting an animal. For adoption events, follow our social media pages to stay up to date on where and when we are hosting. The High Tails team welcomes you to reach out with any questions and to view our website to adopt, foster, volunteer, and donate today.
