About Hillside Group

The Hillside Group is an international nonprofit community dedicated to advancing the practice, teaching, and impact of pattern languages. We bring together researchers, practitioners, educators, and change agents who believe that well-crafted patterns can help people design better systems, organizations, and communities. Through our conferences, workshops, publications, and mentoring spaces, we support collaborative learning, rigorous reflection, and the sharing of lived experience. Our work spans software, organizational design, education, social change, and beyond, always grounded in the belief that patterns make complex ideas accessible, transferable, and human-centered. At its heart, the Hillside Group exists to nurture a global community that uses patterns to make the world more thoughtful, more connected, and more humane.
