About Hip Hop Fundamentals

Hip Hop Fundamentals is a Philadelphia-based dance education company that uses the power of Breaking (breakdancing) and Hip Hop culture to engage, educate, and inspire. We are the only company in the world dedicated to blending professional-level dance with academic and social content, creating unforgettable programs for schools, communities, and events nationwide. Our team of professional breakers and teaching artists delivers interactive assemblies, workshops, and residencies that teach subjects like history, physics, teamwork, and social justice—all through the lens of Hip Hop. We believe in the four core principles of the culture: Peace, Love, Unity, and Having Fun, and we bring those values into every performance and classroom we step into. Over the years, Hip Hop Fundamentals has partnered with schools, nonprofits, cultural institutions, and businesses across the country, reaching thousands of students with programming that is both educational and deeply impactful. From high-energy school shows to long-term residencies, we combine authenticity, artistry, and passion to make learning exciting and relevant. Every performance supports our larger mission: to preserve Hip Hop culture while using it as a tool for positive change. When you work with us, you’re not just booking a show, you’re joining a movement that empowers youth, strengthens communities, and celebrates the power of dance and education.
