About Hippo Travel

Hippo Travel is a Southern Africa focused travel company specializing in the design, orchestration, and delivery of exceptional journeys for discerning travelers and the partners who serve them. Our purpose is to create extraordinary, unforgettable moments for guests while removing complexity, risk, and operational burden for our travel partners. We take full ownership of the experience so our partners can focus on relationships and travelers can focus on the journey itself. At the heart of our portfolio is Hippo Lakes, our flagship destination in South Africa. Hippo Lakes is a Travelers’ Choice Award winner, placing it in the top 10 percent of properties globally, with 98 percent five star guest reviews. It is also a malaria free, vaccine free destination and visa free for US travelers and many other nationalities, making it both inspiring and reassuring for guests. This flagship relationship gives Hippo Travel uncommon insight and flexibilty. We work directly with the destination to ensure every detail from arrival to departure is thoughtfully considered and seamlessly delivered. That same standard guides the broader Southern African journeys we design and oversee. For travel advisors and partners, Hippo Travel operates as a trusted extension of your team. We protect your client relationships, uphold your brand promise, and provide the on the ground expertise required to deliver Southern Africa with confidence and support. For travelers, the experience feels effortless and personal. Moments are unhurried. Encounters are authentic. Details are handled quietly in the background, allowing guests to be fully present for the moments that matter and remain unforgettable long after the journey ends. We believe exceptional travel is defined by intention, care, and execution. By focusing on meaningful experiences and delivering them with precision, Hippo Travel helps partners offer journeys that resonate deeply and last a lifetime.
