About hispanic arts society
Hispanic Arts Society is a Calgary-based non-profit organization dedicated to promoting, preserving, and celebrating Hispanic arts and culture in Canada. Incorporated on June 26, 1987, the Society has been enriching Calgary’s cultural landscape for over 38 years through high-quality artistic programming and community engagement. Working across five core artistic areas—music, dance, performing arts, visual arts, and film—the Society creates inclusive platforms that foster cultural exchange, artistic excellence, and public education. Its programming reflects the diversity of 20 Latin American countries plus Spain, connecting artists and audiences through meaningful cultural experiences. The Hispanic Arts Society is best known for producing large-scale festivals, exhibitions, performances, and educational initiatives, including the long-running Expo Latino Festival, one of Western Canada’s most recognized multicultural events. The organization supports both emerging and established artists while expanding access to arts and culture for diverse communities. Driven by values of passion, appreciation, commitment, diversity, inclusion, and learning, the Hispanic Arts Society continues to build bridges across cultures and strengthen the arts ecosystem in Calgary and beyond.
