HOH Agri (Pty) Ltd ("HydroOrganic") is establishing a hydroponic deep-water-culture fully controlled environment agriculture system (the "Hydroponic System"), as well as a solar-driven cold storage facility, post-harvest and packaging facility, water treatment plant, training centre, staff facilities and nursery near Atlantis, Western Cape, South Africa. HydroOrganic will employ, train, and educate approximately 250 people and create sustainable full-time employment in this Western Cape area of high unemployment. The Hydroponic System's main advantages are: • It eliminates the need for harmful pesticides and herbicides. • It provides for year-round cultivation without seasonal gluts and famines. • It uses 10% of the water of open field agriculture while producing 3-5 times the yield, depending on produce variety, leading to exponential water savings. • It reduces the risk of crop contamination through disease and pests, and it protects from the elements and extreme weather events caused by climate change. • It uses IoT software and sensors to automate, monitor and control the growing environments for optimal conditions, efficiency, and risk mitigation.
