About Honorary NYC Dog Mayor

Dog Mayor NYC is a civic-satire media and events brand that blends humor, community, education, and pet culture into one unforgettable cultural platform. Every two years, we run a March Madness-style public election to choose New York City’s Honorary Dog Mayor—and then build a citywide programming calendar around our four-legged leader. This is more than a novelty—it’s a growing cultural institution with earned media from The New York Times, support from City Hall, and an engaged community of thousands of New Yorkers (and their dogs). Our mission is to create joyful and educational civic engagement while raising awareness for causes that impact both dogs and humans in NYC. Through content, live events, and partnerships, we entertain, inspire, educate, and connect urban pet lovers.
