About Hospitality Association of Namibia (HAN)

Since its founding in 1987, the Hospitality Association of Namibia (HAN) has come a long way. What started with just 16 members has grown into a vibrant community of over 400, representing everything from one to five-star hotels to guest farms, lodges, restaurants, and catering services. We truly reflect the full diversity of Namibia's hospitality industry. At HAN we are committed to promoting the shared interests of our members. Our main focus is on maintaining high-quality standards across all types of hospitality establishments. We also take on the responsibility of sharing industry information and facilitating communication, advocate, lobby, and represent the industry. We also promote networking among members, training, growth, and empowerment. We facilitate professional advice and services, as well as engage in generic marketing and public relations, and support environmentally sustainable practices. We are also proud to have played a key role in setting up the Hospitality Training Centre, which is now part of the Department of Tourism and Hospitality at the Namibian University of Science and Technology (NUST). Additionally, in 2023 HAN initiated the 𝘤𝘰-𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘵𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘮 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘳𝘰𝘢𝘥𝘮𝘢𝘱 for the tourism industry. We believe that training is crucial in addressing the need for skilled professionals in our industry. Inclusivity is important to us. We actively support efforts to involve all segments of our community in hospitality. Our goal is to ensure that every tourism service provided in Namibia not only makes our hosts proud but also enhances the reputation of our entire industry. Together, we can showcase Namibia as a top destination for tourists and create unforgettable experiences for everyone who visits.
