Together our team has more than 110 years of innovative engagement know-how in Western Canada and beyond. The HOBS team is committed to a kind, impartial collaboration process that respects the project team members and the stakeholders. It is critical to communicate well, which includes more listening than speaking. Our objective is to nurture goodwill and understanding, no matter how difficult the conversation. We strive to ensure that all voices are heard and that all parties’ interests are reflected in the outcomes of any engagement. At HOBS we believe that honesty, curiosity, and integrity are the heart of all genuine engagement and conflict resolution practices. We are open to “no”. We believe that understanding a perspective different from our own does not need to mean agreement, but it can lead to mutually acceptable resolutions. Our world needs more “yes, and” conversations that lead to inventive, pragmatic ways to resolve conflicts. Collectively we have worked on some of Canada’s most controversial energy projects, ensuring that the concerns of stakeholders were heard and reflected in project development.
