About Hsing Yun Education Foundation

Venerable Master Hsing Yun, a dedicated advocate of Humanistic Buddhism, has devoted his life to promoting education and culture. Believing in kindness and charity for societal betterment, he sees education as the foundation of humanity's virtue. He envisions Nan Tien Institute as a place where youth learn from the virtuous, fostering cultural exchange between Asia and Australia, and promoting peace through unity in diversity. He believes that focusing on education enhances morality and wisdom in multicultural Australia, spreading the light of humanity worldwide. In 2015, he donated proceeds from his one-stroke calligraphy to fund a scholarship for 100 students at Nan Tien Institute, recognising that educational success requires long-term planning and community involvement. To further this cause, the Fo Guang Shan Nan Tien Temple launched the Hsing Yun Education Foundation to garner support from education advocates.
