Throughout its more than 20 years of activities, it has focused its efforts on two main lines of action in Brazil: disseminating the potential of geosynthetics and their applications and educating and training professionals in the sector to use these materials in solutions for civil engineering challenges. Always very dynamic, IGS Brasil offers, among other things, regular courses, workshops, competitions, development of standards and recommendations. It has in its resume the organization of 3 Educating the Educators courses, 8 national conferences on Geosynthetics and, perhaps its most outstanding achievement, the 9th International Conference on Geosynthetics in 2010. All of this accumulated experience is now at the service of the 4th Pan American Conference on Geosynthetics.
