About Imagine the Next Institute

Founded in 1992 by award-winning cultural visionary Janine James, The Moderns was the first company to hoist a flag at the intersection of branding, advertising, and design. Aimed at no less than cultural transformation, Janine initiated The Moderns as one of the first ecologically conscious and solution-based creative and consulting agencies, and we have remained true to our forward-thinking philosophy for more than two decades. From the beginning, The Moderns have been comprised of a multidisciplinary team of solutionists, which over the years has included marketing and experiential branding strategists, multimedia developers, graphic designers, architects, fine artists, musicians, dancers, interior designers, anthropologists, and scientists—among others! The Moderns is a living, evolving organism with fundamental principles that are firmly rooted in ecologically conscious products and relationships. At the heart of The Moderns’ work is an unshakeable commitment to social equity, environmental responsibility, and paradigm-shifting innovation. The Moderns have been early pioneers in collaborating with clients—from start-ups to corporations to not-for-profits—to establish and cultivate brands that support people, planet, and commerce for healthier profitability and long-lasting brand loyalty. Guided by our socially conscious mission, our thought leadership has been a resource for more than two decades. Imagine the Next.
