About Independen.id

Independen.id is the first alternative media in Indonesia. It was born during the New Order era when the media was forbidden, as it published many stories about corruption and mismanagement by the Soeharto government. Independen.id focuses on issues concerning the environment, human rights, minority groups, corruption, and other stories neglected by the mainstream media.
