About Independent Mineral Standards (IMS)

Independent Mineral Standards (IM Standards) manufactures Certified Reference Materials (CRMs) for the global mining industry, supporting QA/QC of laboratory analysis. We produce both pulverised and crushed CRMs, including being the developer and sole supplier of CrushedCRM™ for large-mass analytical methods like PhotonAssay™ and PAL1000™. Our CRMs are designed to match the particle size distribution of routine samples, ensuring consistency in testing. Since 2012, we’ve developed proprietary production equipment and processes to meet evolving industry requirements, with extensive experience in matrix-matched custom CRM production. Our ISO 17034 accreditation reflects an external review of our production and certification processes across different characterisation methodologies. This enables the manufacture of primary (calibration) and secondary (matrix-matched) reference materials with metrological traceability.
