About INDIAN MAKHANA COMPANY

At Indian Makhana Company (IMC), our journey began with a simple yet powerful vision — to bring India’s ancient superfood, Makhana (fox nut), from the ponds to the world’s table. With one of India’s largest state-of-the-art processing plants in Patna, we ensure the highest standards of quality, safety, and sustainability in every pack Makhana is more than just a snack. For centuries, it has been a symbol of purity, prosperity, and wellness, deeply rooted in Indian culture and Ayurveda. Originating from Bihar’s Mithila region, it has graced temples as an offering to the divine, nourished families during fasting rituals, and been cherished for its incredible health benefits. With 80% of the world’s Makhana grown in Bihar, it is truly India’s gift to the globe. IMC was founded by three passionate entrepreneurs — two from Bihar, the birthplace of Makhana, and one from Haryana, the land of agriculture. Together, they set out on a mission to transform this traditional crop into a modern, healthy snacking revolution. Our purpose is clear: To build a future-ready, tech-enabled, and data-driven agri-business. To uphold the highest standards of quality, safety, and sustainability. To create lasting value for farmers, partners, and customers through trust and transparency. Our Infrastructure At the heart of IMC lies our state-of-the-art plant in Patna, spread across 40,000 sqft — one of India’s largest facilities dedicated to fox nuts.
