The Indian Rubber Institute (IRI) is India’s leading professional body dedicated to advancing the rubber and tyre industry through education, training, and technical excellence. Established in 1987, IRI brings together technologists, engineers, scientists, academicians, and industry professionals to promote knowledge sharing, skill development, and capacity building across the rubber and tyre value chain. With 4,000+ life members and an active network of eight regional branches across India, IRI plays a key role in delivering specialised professional education, particularly for individuals who may not have access to formal higher education pathways. IRI is: A technical affiliate of the American Chemical Society (ACS) Rubber Division, USA The Indian representative of the International Rubber Conference Organisation (IRCO), UK A key contributor to the Rubber, Chemical & Petrochemical Skill Development Council (RCPSDC), having supported the development of 75+ National Occupational Standards (NOS) for the rubber industry To further strengthen its academic and industry mission, IRI has established the Dr. D. Banerjee Centre of Excellence (DBCOE) in Mysuru, Karnataka.
