About Indigenous Lawyers Queensland
Indigenous Lawyers Queensland Inc (previusly Indigenous Lawyers Association of Queensland) was founded in 2007. We are a professional representative body with a purpose of advancing the profile and interests of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander law students and legal professionals in Queensland. The organisation is run by a management committee and all work is done by those who volunteer their time to take on governance roles and other projects throughout the year. The legal profession in Queensland and across Australia can only be enhanced by our increased recognition and participation. Our current membership consists of and is open to members of the judiciary, barristers, solicitors and law students from across Queensland, both Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous people.
