About Indigenous Roots Coffee Company

Indigenous Roots Coffee Company is a wholly owned Indigenous Coffee Company who shares profits with a handful of Indigenous initiatives. We strive to share our stories and help provide a platform for storytelling and learning. We offer 4 different roasts currently, where each is paired up with a different initiative: • 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟 (𝑳𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕-𝑴𝒆𝒅𝒊𝒖𝒎 𝑹𝒐𝒂𝒔𝒕) This is our lightest blend and contributes directly to the Joyful Jiggers, a Métis dance group led by two teenagers, sharing and teaching within the Greater Victoria. • 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 (𝑴𝒆𝒅𝒊𝒖𝒎 𝑹𝒐𝒂𝒔𝒕) Partnered with the Geronimo Canoe Club, a self funded Coast Salish canoe family who has been developing world champion paddlers for 50 years! • 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐁𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐝 (𝑴𝒆𝒅𝒊𝒖𝒎-𝑫𝒂𝒓𝒌 𝑹𝒐𝒂𝒔𝒕) Supporting with XAXE TEṈEW̱ Sacred Land Society, who is reconnecting women with the land. • 𝐁𝐢𝐠 𝐇𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐁𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐝 (𝑫𝒂𝒓𝒌 𝑹𝒐𝒂𝒔𝒕) Contributions to general community gatherings. All the art on the bags and labels were developed with Indigenous artists, from Haida, Métis, & Tsartlip Nations, each with their own story and context.
