About Institut za STEM edukaciju i afterschool programe

Institute for STEM education and afterschool activities is an Nonprofit Organization established in 2018 and founded by educational and STEM experts in Croatia. We have designed our program "STEM U VRTIĆU" (STEM in kindergarten) to help achieve our mission of making STEAM Education accessible to all. The program is verified by Croatian Ministry of Science and Education and Education and Teacher Training Agency and develops science, technology, ingeneering and math skills in preeschools. We teach kids CAPS-aligned Digital Skills, coding & robotics, programming, engineering, problem solving skills, logical-mathematical skills, science. As well, we developed STEM education for K1&K2 where they can learn more about mobile application development, web development, and game development as well as conducting workshops in Artificial Intelligence, Virtual Reality, 3D technology, and Machine Learning. The workshops are conducted during school days, school holidays & weekends. STEAM knows that confident, knowledgeable educators are key to success. Since many preschool teachers did not themselves experience effective STEAM teaching when they were learners it is critical that we provide preK teachers with a safe space to experience inquiry-based and co-operative learning approach to STEM teaching which they can then implement in their own in kindergartens. As well, we provide and/or encourage companies to sponsor under-privileged kids in the poor communities and rural areas with Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Maths (STEAM) education programmes.
