Welcome to the Institute of Cell Therapy (ICT) "Dimitris Lois", a part of the University Research Centre of the University of Patras. At ICT, our primary focus is on translational research in cell, gene, and regenerative therapies. We are dedicated to advancing medical science and improving patient outcomes through cutting-edge research and innovation. Our institute consists of various specialized units, all working towards the common goal of advancing healthcare. One of our significant achievements is the Centre to Advance Public Awareness & Recruitment of Bone Marrow Donor Volunteers (CBMDP) - "Save a Life." This unit serves as a fully functional and accredited local registry centre (World Marrow Donor Association code WO-1041). Over the years, we have successfully recruited and registered more than 70.000 volunteers, resulting in the provision of over 150 grafts to patients in Greece and abroad. Our commitment to saving lives and contributing to the global bone marrow donor network remains unwavering. Additionally, we take great pride in our state-of-the-art GMP Lab "Dimitris Lois", donated by "Choose Life", where we adhere to the highest standards of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). This facility plays a crucial role in our research, allowing us to develop and produce advanced cell-based therapies in a controlled and safe environment. ICT continues to drive the field of regenerative medicine, pushing the boundaries of what is possible in cell therapy and gene-based interventions.
