About Inter University Centre (IUC) Dubrovnik

The IUC is an international independent network of universities that offers short-term academic programmes for students, faculty and academically trained professionals. The IUC was founded (1971) to stimulate academic cooperation and the exchange of knowledge and ideas. In doing so, it aims to form a bridge between different countries and regions (East-West, North-South) and thus create more understanding between cultures and societies. Due to its geographical position and historical closeness, the IUC wishes to contribute to internationalization efforts of the South-East European region. The mission of the IUC is therefore: 1. To promote, stimulate and facilitate international cooperation in the academic field. 2. In stimulating academic collaboration, the IUC tries to be inclusive, as to create opportunities for scientific exchange for less privileged countries or less privileged scientific communities. 3. IUC is an advocate of academic freedom. By this we mean: the right of scholars and academics to conduct research, teach and express ideas and opinions without fear of censorship or political pressure.
