About Interdisciplinary Network for Technology and Entrepreneurship Research in Africa

Digital technologies and entrepreneurship are integral to socio-economic development and generate considerable enthusiasm in African societies. Our interdisciplinary collective of scholars and practitioners analyze the effects that the spread of entrepreneurship ideas and digital technologies have on lives, labor and subjectivities in African societies with the aim of using academic insight to promote positive societal change. The network also engages in supporting emerging research talent at the pre-doctoral, doctoral, and postdoctoral as well as faculty level through virtual, bi-monthly paper development workshop in which members provide feedback on each other's work. We are constantly looking for ways how to create a more robust network to support scholars from a variety of domains such as Anthropology, STS, HCI, Sociology, Entrepreneurship, Business, Management, Leadership, and Organization Studies (this is not an exhaustive list). Please get in touch if the network resonates with you and your work. Our inspiration for this network comes from The Next Einstein Initiative and the Africa Institute of Mathematical Sciences, the Harambe Alliance, and the UK's Jazz collective Tomorrow's Warriors.
