About Intergovernmental Group of Twenty-Four on International Monetary Affairs and Development (G-24)
The Intergovernmental Group of Twenty-Four on International Monetary Affairs and Development (G-24) coordinates the positions of developing and emerging market countries on monetary and development issues in the deliberations and decisions of global economic governance organizations, especially the IMF and the World Bank. To fulfill its mandate, the G-24 conducts rigorous policy research, provides a convening place for policy makers, scholars, stakeholders and civil society to share experience, and builds consensus on emerging issues. The political leadership of the Group comprises Ministers of Finance and Governors of Central Banks of member countries, and Washington-based representatives, who meet twice a year, preceding the Spring and Fall meetings of the International Monetary and Financial Committee and the Development Committee of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund. The permanent Secretariat is located in Washington DC.
