Established in 1979, the International Atherosclerosis Society (IAS) is a federation of member organizations worldwide whose missions are to promote the scientific understanding of the etiology, prevention, and treatment of atherosclerosis. With 58 member organizations spanning 68 countries, the IAS coordinates the global exchange of scientific information, fosters research and education on cardio-cerebro-metabolic and thrombosis risk factors into the development of atherosclerosis, and facilitates the translation of knowledge into improving clinical practice worldwide.
