About International Center for Education and Exchange (IBB) gGmbH

"Overcoming boundaries" – for over three decades this has been our slogan for driving civil society collaboration with Eastern Europe, advancing multi-perspective remembrance culture and sustainable development. Our journey began with impactful projects like the International Education and Exchange Center in Minsk and the History Workshop in the former Minsk Ghetto. From 2002 to 2023, through the Belarus Support Program successfully implemented for BMZ and GIZ, we supported around 300 partnership projects aimed at strengthening civil society, regularly organised national-wide forums and sustainability weeks and implemented more than 20 courses, aiming at capacity building of CSOs on topics, like sustainable development strategies, monitoring, social entrepreneurship and inclusion. This initiative later extended to the Eastern Partnership countries, broadening our impact across the region. Since 2016, we’ve been facilitating memorial site visits across Europe as a central agency for BMFSFJ. In 2020, our IBB 2030 Agenda Hub launched trainings on sustainable event management, further expanding our commitment to social entrepreneurship development. At the heart of our mission is the "Leave No One Behind" (LNOB) principle. We strive for inclusive practices, social economy models, and lifelong, intergenerational and intercultural learning.
