About International Foundation for Disability Inclusion
Our Vision - We advocate for the active participation of persons with disabilities in the development of technological and policy innovations, ensuring inclusion is built into the design, decision-making, and implementation processes—especially in the Global South and Africa. - Disability inclusion is recognized not only as a social justice goal, but as an integral part of development, governance, health, education, urban planning, and artificial intelligence ethics. - The divide between small grassroots groups and large philanthropic institutions is narrowed through equitable funding partnerships and intermediary support. - Cross-cultural and interdisciplinary learning informs the development of inclusive public policies, educational systems, products, and services. Our Values: Equity Over Charity ------------------- We listen to learn. Building trust with each other and those we serve is core to our mission. Representation Matters ----------------------- Those closest to the issue must lead the solutions. We prioritize community-led approaches and lived experience in decision-making. Learning Across Borders ------------------------- We are systems-thinkers. We aim to contribute meaningful and sustainable solutions. Every Effort Counts -------------------- From solo advocates to large coalitions, every contribution is part of the collective change we seek to build.
