About International FPIES Association

The International FPIES Association (IFPIES) is the leading global resource and advocacy organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families affected by Food Protein-Induced Enterocolitis Syndrome (FPIES). Our Mission: To advance awareness, education, research, and support for FPIES, empowering families and healthcare professionals with the knowledge and resources they need to navigate this challenging condition. What is FPIES? FPIES is a type of food allergy affecting the gastrointestinal system. Unlike typical allergic reactions, FPIES reactions are often delayed, occurring hours after ingesting a trigger food. Symptoms can include profuse vomiting, diarrhea, dehydration, and in severe cases, even shock. FPIES can significantly impact a child's growth, nutrition, and overall well-being. What We Do: Family Support: We provide a lifeline to families navigating FPIES, offering evidence-based resources, educational materials, and a supportive community to connect with others facing similar challenges. Medical Education: We strive to increase awareness and understanding of FPIES among healthcare professionals through educational programs, webinars, and conferences, promoting timely and accurate diagnosis and management. Research Advancement: We are committed to funding and promoting cutting-edge research to improve our understanding of FPIES, leading to better treatments, prevention strategies, and ultimately, a cure. Advocacy: We advocate for policies and initiatives that support the FPIES community, ensuring access to safe and nutritious food, appropriate medical care, and improved quality of life. Join our LinkedIn community to: Stay informed about the latest FPIES research, news, and events. Connect with leading FPIES experts, healthcare professionals, and families.
