Proton/ion therapy is a type of radiation therapy that uses proton/ion beams instead of photon (X-rays). In general, the sum of protons and ions is also called hadron, and this method of treatment is also known as hadron therapy. Proton/ion therapy uses positively charged particles that originate from nucleus of light atoms and, by irradiating to the patient’s body and deposit their maximum dose at a certain depth in the body and then stop.
