The Jesuit Chennai Province is a dynamic territorial region of the Society of Jesus, committed to social transformation and empowerment in Tamil Nadu, India. Established as an independent province on December 29, 2019, after its bifurcation from the Jesuit Madurai Province, we carry forward the Jesuit legacy of education, social justice, and community development. Guided by the motto “Imitating Jesus in Liberating Humanity,” we focus on uplifting Dalits and other marginalized communities across 21 civil districts and 9 dioceses in northern and western Tamil Nadu.
