Kids In Need of Illinois’ mission is to support caregivers, including professionals and organizations with the necessary resources needed to ensure the children in their care thrive. Our Second Bridge program has a distribution center downtown Crystal Lake where foster families and other caregivers can come and shop for free for supplies like clothing, diapers, bedding, toys and toiletries. We also offer delivery services for families. We work directly with a number of organizations and schools to provide resources to children that they serve. Our Visitation Home offers families a place to visit in a dignified and safe location. This home provides a place for children to visit with their biological families, for parents to receive parent coaching and for children to receive therapy. All services are provided with our partner, ROAN Family Solutions. This unique environment allows families to truly visit as a family. Parents are able to cook a meal in the kitchen, help with homework at the dining room table or bathe their children before putting on pajamas. We also have a Holiday program that not only grants Christmas wishes to kids in care, but it also hosts a beautiful holiday party for 150 of some of our counties most vulnerable children.
