About King's Academy Lord Wilson

King's Academy Lord Wilson is a highly-regarded special school for boys aged 11-16, specialising in supporting those with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. We are dedicated to providing a nurturing environment where our students can overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. Our commitment to excellence is reflected in our achievements. We are immensely proud of our excellent GCSE outcomes, which demonstrate the significant academic progress our students make. This success is a testament to our tailored curriculum and the dedication of our staff. In 2025, our hard work was recognised at a national level when we were nominated for two TES Awards, winning one. This prestigious accolade highlights our innovative approach to education and our commitment to providing the best possible support for our students. Further showcasing our global outlook, we have achieved the British Council's Intermediate International School Award, fostering cultural awareness and a broader perspective for our students. Rated 'Good' by Ofsted, we are a school that promotes positive relationships and well-being. We are a THRIVE school, which means we use a therapeutic approach to help our students with their emotional and social development, ensuring they feel safe, settled, and ready to learn. Our staff are also trained in PRICE (Protecting Rights In a Caring Environment), providing them with the knowledge and skills for positive behaviour support, de-escalation, and physical intervention in a safe and respectful manner. At King's Academy Lord Wilson, we are more than just a school; we are a community that empowers young men to become confident, resilient, and successful individuals.
