About Kinship Works

Kinship Works helps organisations and systems break out of the sticky and often inhuman patterns of bureaucracy to build something more organic. We centre the human stuff, from relationships and places, to the infrastructure and rituals of a thriving civic life. You can work with us as a consultancy, but really we're more of a network. We bring together people with expertise in the many difficult aspects of being human in bureaucratic systems - from data and evidence, to story-telling and convening, to questions of leadership and organisaitonal design. We came together because we worry that many of the systems we rely on — in essence, top down bureaucracies — are struggling with today's biggest challenges. From loneliness to entrenched poverty, chronic ill-health, and the care crisis, we see human issues, and we think they need human responses. Our aim ultimately is to strengthen the wider movement we are a part of. A movement that is building a more human alternative to our struggling old systems.
