About KIOKU Studio
The Challenge Most interventions for loneliness and cognitive decline are clinical and reactive—they arrive too late. Seniors often become passive recipients of care, losing their sense of agency just when they need it most. The KIOKU Solution KIOKU is a Social-Cognitive Fitness Program centered on collaborative storytelling. Guided by KIOKU Certified Coaches (KCC), older adults regain their voice by co-creating narratives using words printed on tactile wooden tiles. We are proud of our handcrafted wooden medium, but the true power lies in the stories shared, facilitating meaningful interactions grounded in human warmth, active listening, and a deep sense of belonging. Scaling the Human Connection with AI We leverage proprietary AI to scale the human aspect of this storytelling experience. Our technology empowers coaches with real-time insights and personalized session designs, ensuring that as we grow, the intimacy and warmth of the human connection remains at the heart of every KIOKU circle. Proven Impact Validated: Controlled study of 150+ adults showing significant reduction in loneliness and improved wellbeing. Scalable: Facilitated today by hundreds of older adults in social clubs and day centers across Israel. Expanding: Partnering with premium senior living communities to redefine the aging experience. Our Partners & Recognition Awards: First-place research award (IAGG 2023). Clinical Evidence: Published in Games for Health Journal (2024). Backed by: JDC (The Joint), Israel Association of Community Centers, and the Municipalities of Tel Aviv, Pardes Hanna, Harish, and more.
