About Knuckle Sandwich Robotics, Inc.

Knuckle Sandwich Robotics (KSR) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing STEM education through competitive robotics. Our mission is to empower students to develop technical skills, creativity, and resilience by participating in VEX IQ and VEX V5 competitions. We believe that robotics provides the perfect platform for students to learn engineering design, programming, and teamwork in a real-world, hands-on context. KSR supports students from elementary through high school across Alabama, with a focus on making robotics education accessible and competitive at every level. We coach and mentor teams directly, guiding students in robot design, Python and C++ coding, and competition strategy. We also partner with schools, universities, and community organizations to launch and sustain programs, especially in underserved areas where opportunities in STEM are limited. In addition to team coaching, KSR plays a leading role in building Alabama’s robotics ecosystem. We organize and host tournaments, workshops, and summer camps, giving students the chance to showcase their skills and learn from peers. To support teams year-round, we create resources such as parts organization systems, coding tutorials, and guides that simplify the learning process for both students and coaches. Fundraising, sponsorships, and partnerships are a key part of our work. By securing support from industry and community stakeholders, KSR ensures that teams have access to the equipment, training, and competition opportunities needed to thrive. Knuckle Sandwich Robotics is more than a robotics program—it is a movement to establish Alabama as a hub for STEM excellence. Our vision is to build a sustainable pipeline of students who are not only strong competitors but also future engineers, innovators, and leaders.
