About Kollektiv Collective

Kollektiv Collective is a nomadic curatorial project founded by Pia Zeitzen and Sasha Shevchenko in 2019, based in London and working internationally. Their practice spans exhibition making, publishing and collaborative research, rooted in decentralised structures and collective authorship. Engaging with a plurality of spaces, including cultural institutes, galleries and off-site locations, Kollektiv Collective approaches curating as a fluid, process-led act. Zeitzen and Shevchenko’s work explores the politics of space, labour and language, foregrounding multiplicity, friction and care to challenge dominant curatorial frameworks and reimagine how art can be encountered, discussed and lived. Kollektiv Collective has previously exhibited in galleries and institutions including the European Parliament Liaison Office in the UK; the Austrian Cultural Forum, London; Santi, London; Palo Gallery, New York; Inspection Pit, Sussex; Generation & Display as part of London Design Festival; Des Bains, London; General Assembly, London; Tabula Rasa Gallery, London; Guts Gallery Projects, London; Kupfer, London; SET Woolwich, London; Christie’s, London; and Swiss Church, London. Zeitzen and Shevchenko have a background in the institutional and commercial sectors, having previously held positions at the Venice Biennale and Galerie Max Hetzler, and the National Portrait Gallery and Goldsmiths Centre for Contemporary Art respectively.
