About Kuantan Port

Kuantan Port Consortium Sdn Bhd (Kuantan Port) is owned 60% by IJM Corporation Berhad and 40% by Beibu Gulf Holding (Hong Kong) Co. Ltd. Established in 1974 under the Kuantan Port Authority, Kuantan Port has made significant progress since its establishment. Full operations began in 1984, and it has steadily become the preferred port in the South China Sea region, gaining increasing prominence over the years. In 1998, Kuantan Port was privatised and became Kuantan Port Consortium Sdn Bhd. After nearly four decades of successful operations, the idea to expand the port was conceived in 2013. Presently, Kuantan Port has transformed into two ports - Kuantan Port 1 and the New Deep-Water Terminal (NDWT). The NDWT commenced its first operational phase in 2018. Strategically situated on the eastern seaboard of Peninsular Malaysia, at the core of global trade and industry, Kuantan Port has emerged as a significant player in the region. The port is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and services, an extensive market reach, and a robust global shipping network. With these exceptional resources, Kuantan Port is poised to drive the rapid expansion of industrial and manufacturing activities in the dynamic East Coast Industrial Corridor.
