About Kumeyaay Community College

Kumeyaay Community College is rooted in the lands, languages, and living knowledge of the Kumeyaay people. We are dedicated to advancing culturally grounded education that honors ancestral teachings while preparing learners of all ages for leadership, service, and lifelong learning. Our programs center Kumeyaay culture, language revitalization, traditional ecological knowledge, arts, and intergenerational learning. Elders, culture bearers, educators, and community members work together to ensure knowledge is passed on with respect, accuracy, and purpose—connecting past, present, and future. We believe education is most powerful when it is community-driven and place-based. Through classes, workshops, cultural teachings, and partnerships, Kumeyaay Community College supports the preservation of cultural identity while fostering academic growth, professional development, and self-determination. Our mission is to strengthen community through learning—uplifting Indigenous knowledge systems, empowering future generations, and creating pathways that honor who we are and where we come from. 🌿 Culture. Language. Community. Lifelong Learning.
