KUSCH is a structural engineering firm, with specialist expertise in the seismic design of non-structural building elements. We understand the challenges faced by building services consultants and contractors in complying with the requirements of AS1170.4-Earthquake actions in Australia, and how this standard impacts the design of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic services and plant, as well as ceilings and other various non-structural elements of buildings. The National Construction Code and AS1170.4 mandate that the majority of these non-structural elements be designed for seismic loads, for all building projects, other than residential dwellings and importance level 1 structures.
