About Kye's Climate Action Fund

Kye's Climate Action Fund (KCAF) is a 501(c)(3) organization founded in honor of Kye Moffat, a passionate geologist, climate activist, brother, son, and friend. During Kye’s 25 years, he had a superpower for uplifting others and inspiring them to take action. He focused this unparalleled energy on addressing the climate crisis. While he often remarked that “humanity spends too much time talking and too little time making change,” he was optimistic that the right mix of science, innovation, policy, and grassroots action could help save the planet from the worst effects of climate change. Inspired by Kye's legacy, KCAF is focused on supporting talented and courageous young people in their work to fight the climate crisis. We believe that solving the climate crisis requires intense collaboration and diverse perspectives, and that every young person who cares to dedicate their time and energy to this issue should be encouraged to do so. Through a combination of grant funding and network building, we seek to remove barriers to entry in the climate field and to help young changemakers expand their impact, while building a joyful and inclusive community along the way.
